ગૌરીશંકર ગોવર્ધનરામ જોશી, ‘ધૂમકેતુ’ (૧૨-૧૨-૧૮૯૨, ૧૧-૩-૧૯૬૫): નવલિકાકાર, નવલકથાકાર, ચિંતક-વિવેચક, નિબંધકાર, ચરિત્રકાર, નાટ્યકાર. જન્મ સૌરાષ્ટ્રના વીરપુરમાં. ૧૯૩૫માં રણજિતરામ સુવર્ણચંદ્રક મળેલો, પણ પરત કરેલો. ૧૯૫૩માં નર્મદ સુવર્ણચંદ્રક. ધૂમકેતુ ગુજરાતી નવલિકાના આદ્યપ્રણેતા ગણાયા. એમની નવલિકાઓમાં સામાન્ય, દીન દરિદ્ર પાત્રોનો પ્રથમવારનો પ્રવેશ ક્રાંતિકારક હતો. એમની ભાવનાવાદી નવલિકાઓમાં મસ્તીભર્યા, રંગદર્શી, કલ્પનારંગ્યા વાતાવરણમાં તેઓ કોઈ આદર્શ કે ભાવનાનું નિરૂપણ અને ઊર્મિનું ઉત્કટ આલેખન કરે છે તો વાસ્તવલક્ષી નવલિકાઓમાં એમનો ઝોક સમાજસુધારણા પ્રત્યેનો છે. ગાંધીભાવનાનો પડઘો પણ એમણે ઝીલ્યો છે. ‘તણખા’ મંડળના ચાર ભાગોમાં એમની વાર્તાઓ સંગ્રહસ્થ છે.

છેલ્લા છ દાયકા જેટલા સમયથી ગુજરાતી સાહિત્ય ક્ષેત્રે સર્જન યાત્રા કરી રહેલા શ્રી દિનકર જોષીના ૧૫૨ જેટલા ગ્રંથો પ્રકાશિત થઈ ચૂક્યા છે. આમાં નવલકથાઓ, ટૂંક વાતઓિ, ચિંતનાત્મક નિબંધો, પ્રસંગ ચિત્રો, સંપાદનો ઇત્યાદિ પ્રકારોનું એમણે ઊંડું ખેડાણ કર્યું છે. શ્રીકૃષ્ણ અને ગાંધીજી આ બે એમના અભ્યાસના ખાસ પાત્રો રહ્યા છે. રામાયણ, મહાભારત તથા વેદ ઉપનિષદ જેવા ગ્રંથોને એમણે આધુનિક સંદર્ભમાં આ લેખ્યો છે. જીવનકથનાત્મક નવલકથાઓનું આલેખન એ એમનું વિશિષ્ટ પ્રદાન છે. કવિ નર્મદ, ગાંધીજીના જ્યેષ્ઠ પુત્ર હરિલાલ, મહમદ અલી ઝીણા, રવીન્દ્રનાથ ટાગોર, તથાગત બુધ, સરદાર પટેલ અને લેવ સૅલૉયના વન ઉપર આધારિત એમની નવલકથાનોએ એક અનોખી કેડી કંડારી છે, હરિલાલ ગાંધીના જીવન ઉપર આલેખાયેલી નવલકથા પ્રકાશનો પડછાયો” ઉપરથી અંગ્રેજી સહિત અનેક ભારતીય ભાષાઓમાં નાટયાંતરો થયો અને એ પ્રેક તથા હિન્દીમાં એના ઉપર ચલચિત્રોનું પણ નિર્માણ થયું,
એમના સંખ્યાબંધ પુસ્તકો તથા અન્ય રચનાઓના અંગ્રેજી, હિન્દી, મરાઠી, બંગાળી, ઓરિયા, કન્નડ, તેલુગુ, તમિલ, મલયાલમ તથા જર્મન એમ વિવિધ ભાષાઓમાં અનુવાદો થયો છે, એકીસાથે છ ભાષાઓમાં એમના ૧૫ પુસ્તકો પ્રકારિત કરવાની ઘટનાને લિષ્કા બુકે ઑફ રેકોર્ડસમાં ભારતીય ભાષાઓના વિક્રમ તરીકે સ્થાન મળ્યું છે. ગુજરાતી સાહિત્ય પરિષદ તથા સાહિત્ય અકાદમી જેવી સંસ્થાઓ દ્વારા એમને પારિતોષિક પ્રદાન થયા છે, જે. જે. ટી . યુનિવર્સિટી (રાજસ્થાન) દ્વારા એમને ડી.લિટ્રની માનદ્ પદવીથી સન્માનિત કરવામાં આવ્યા છે,
ગુજરાતી ભાષાઓમાં એમણે સમગ્ર મહાભારતના અનુવાદનું સંપાદન કર્યું છે, જેના ૨૦ ગ્રંથોનો સંપુટ પ્રગટ થયો છે. ગુજરાતી ભાષાના સત્વશીલ મંથોને અન્ય ભાષાઓમાં પ્રકાશિત કરાવવાના ઉદ્દેશ સાથે છેલ્લા થોડા વરસોથી તેઓ ગુજરાતી સાહિત્ય પ્રદાન પ્રતિષ્ઠાનના મેનેજિંગ ટ્રસ્ટી તરીકે સેવાઓ આપી રહ્યા છે.

Ambalal M. Patel was a civil contractor by profession. In June 1958, spontaneous Self-Realization occurred within Ambalal M. Patel. From this point on, Ambalal became a Gnani Purush, and the Lord that manifest within him became known as Dada Bhagwan. મહાન કવિશ્રી દુલા ભાયા કાગ નો જન્મ ગુજરાતના મહુવા નજીક ન ગામ કાગધામ માં ૨૫ નવેમ્બર ૨૯૦૨ ન દિવસે થયેલો. ચારણ જાતમાં જન્મેલા દુલા ભાયા કાગ ફક્ત ૫ ધોરણ સુધી ભણેલા હતા. એમને એમની જમીન વિનોબાજી ભાવે ના અભિયાન માં દાન કરી દીધેલી. આવા મહાન કવિશ્રી ની પબ્લીશ થયેલ પુસ્તક એટલે કે ‘કાગવાણી’ અલગ અલગ આઠ ભાગ માં ઉપલબ્ધ છે. જેમાં ઘણા ધાર્મિક ગીતો, રામાયણ મહાભારત નાં ભાગો અને ગાંધીબાપુ ની ફિલોસોફી ની વાતો છે. ૧૯૬૨ માં દુલા ભાયા કાગને પદ્મશ્રી એવોર્ડથી સન્માનિત કરેલા. એ પોતે ભલે કોઈ ખાસ અભ્યાસ ના કરેલ હોય, પણ એમની લખેલ કવિતાઓ નો અભ્યાસ આજે વિદ્યાર્થીઓ સ્કુલ થી લઈને કોલેજ સુધી કરે છે. ૨૫ નવેમ્બર ૨૦૦૪ થી પોસ્ટલ ડીપાર્ટમેન્ટ માં ૫ રૂપિયાની ટીકીટ એમના પ્રતિક સાથે ની રજુ કરવામાં આવી. દર વર્ષે એમની પુણ્યતિથિ પર પૂજ્ય શ્રી મોરારીબાપુ ના હસ્તે એમના નામના ૫ એવોર્ડ પણ એનાયત કરવામાં આવે છે.
